The Story
It started at IISc, somewhere around 2017. Nitesh was deep in voice synthesis research — and was womdering why every package, every model and most pieces of research always come fromt he west? Tushar was convinced it would matter more if we do something from scratch for the people who belong to rest of the world. They didn't start a company. Not yet.
Enter Nitish, and all three kept the question alive from inside corporate careers during the nights, weekends, and through the occasional brainstorming sessions that ran until morning. The field wasn't ready. The models weren't good enough. The data didn't exist - and it still doesn't. So they built the conviction instead of the company, and waited.
In late 2024, they stopped waiting. Left the corporate - and started experimenting heavily. Thirteen more people followed. The foundation model that began as a research question at IISc now trains on some of the breakthrough inhouse architectures and hitting the production.
